What We Believe
God the Father
There is only one true Father-God, infinite in power, wisdom, justice, righteousness, truth, grace and love. He is bigger than anything or anyone that could come against us! Genesis 1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 40:20-31; John 1:1-14; Romans 8
Jesus
Jesus was the Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. He is God in the flesh. He lived a sinless life and died to pay the penalty for our sins. He is our Savior, Justifier, Redeemer, Friend, and Resurrected Lord. Jesus is God showing Himself to us. Matthew 28:1-10; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-3; Romans 3:21-31; Philippians 2:1-11
The Holy Spirit
God the Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal Jesus, to convict us of our sin and our need of a Savior, and to give eternal life to those who put their faith in Christ. He is God living in us, empowering, controlling and filling us to serve Him. John 14:16-17, 26, 16:5-11; Romans 8:14-16, 26-27; Ephesians 5:18
The Bible
That the Bible, containing the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is God’s inerrant, inspired, sufficient guidebook for life. II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21
Creation
God created the world, the earth, plants, animals and humankind. Nothing “just happened”. Genesis 1-3; Col. 1:15-17; Job 12:7-12
Salvation
Humanity is sinful, inheriting a sinful nature from birth. Men and women are freed from the penalty of their sins not by works or religion, but only through the grace of God through faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross. Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God. Acts 16:31; Romans 3:24-26; 5:1-12; Ephesians 2: 1-10
Security
Christianity is not a religion of fear. People truly born into the family of God are forever kept by God’s power. John 1:12-13; 6:29; 10:27-29; Romans 8:28-39; I Peter 1:5
Church
God’s will is for us to grow in grace, as humble servants who pursue personal holiness, prayer, worship, fellowship, evangelism, the Scriptures, and service. We believe God has given the Church as a place to pursue these things. It is the only true world “super power”. I Corinthians 5:9-13, 6:18-20; Romans 12:1-2; I Peter 1:13-16
Eternity
Death is not the end but the beginning. The Scriptures teach that heaven and hell are real places and that Satan is a real person. Those who receive Christ will spend eternity in God’s presence, and those who refuse God’s offer of mercy and grace will spend eternity in Hell with Satan and his angels. John 5: 24-28; Revelation 20:11 – 21:4; I Peter 5:8-9
Jesus' Return
Jesus is returning before the Millennium to gather His children and judge the World. I Corinthians 15:42-54, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:1-6

Robert Riedy has been at COD since 2006. Bob attended Kutztown University and graduated from Lancaster Bible College. He then went on to Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago where he graduated in 1995. Bob and his wife, Karen, met in college and were married in 1981. They have 3 married children and 7 grandchildren who are the apple of their eyes. Bob enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, walking, hiking, biking, reading, golfing, and doing fun DIY projects around their condo.

West York Campus Pastor
Pastor Brett serves as the West York Campus Pastor and has been part of our team since 2008. He leads with a deep passion for seeing lives transformed by Jesus, helping people discover their God-given gifts and grow in a vibrant, personal relationship with Him. With an MA from Capital Bible Seminary and years of ministry experience, Brett brings wisdom, energy, and care to every role he serves. Outside of ministry, he enjoys time with his family, Washington DC sports, and the outdoors.

David Greer
Executive Pastor
David Greer and his family have been at COD since the middle of 2020. Prior to his time as the Executive Pastor, David was the Director of Creative Arts here at COD. David also spent six years as a Worship Pastor in Kansas City, where his love for the Kansas City Chiefs was born! You will most often find David spending time with his wife, Kelly, and their six kids in and around the York area.

Don Heindel came to COD in 1999 after serving in two other churches as Youth and Assistant Pastor. He originally came to serve as the Worship and Christian Education Pastor. Recently, he transitioned to serve the East York Campus as the Campus Pastor. He has been married to his wife, Donna, for 34 years. They enjoy traveling and eating at good restaurants together. In his free time, he loves to play golf and enjoys hanging out with people.

Originally from Los Angeles, CA, Josh Grossman is our East York Campus Pastor and has been on staff since August 2021. Over about a decade in ministry, Josh has spent time in children’s, missions, worship, youth, and campus ministry. Josh holds a B.A. In Biblical Ministry from Biola University as well as an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. Together with his wife, Alyssia, and their three beautiful daughters: Kaylee, Emma, and Ava they can be found enjoying time together and being with their small group! He is an avid fan of Manchester United FC and the Philadelphia Eagles! Go BIRDS!

Dallastown Campus Pastor
Originally from Texas, Lathan Craft is the Dallastown Campus Pastor and joined the Church of the Open Door staff in July 2026. Lathan has spent more than a decade in ministry, serving in youth, teaching, associate, and campus pastor roles across churches in Texas, California, and North Carolina. He holds degrees in Organizational Psychology and Bible from Biola University. Together with his wife, Serena, and their four children, Judah, Ezra, Hosanna, and Selah, the Craft family loves spending time together, exploring their new home in Pennsylvania, and finding ways to serve their community.
